 A live call path your front desk can understand

 Desk phones are not a separate phone system bolted beside Savvy. They are part of the same call flow that decides when staff should answer and when Ira should take over.

### Patient calls your practice number

Your Savvy number or forwarded office line receives the call and checks which desk phones should ring for that number.

### Every assigned desk phone rings

Front desk, billing, or another operator phone can ring at the same time. The first person to answer gets the call.

### Caller identity appears on the phone

If the caller is already in Savvy, the phone can show the patient name. If not, your team still sees the incoming phone number.

### Ira catches missed calls

If the desk phones are busy, fail, or no one picks up, Savvy redirects the caller to Ira so the patient can still get help.

 In Savvy, an admin can add a desk phone, copy its SIP credentials, and decide which practice phone numbers ring that device. You can set a timeout from 5 to 120 seconds, then let Ira catch the call when the team is unavailable.

### Add each physical phone by name

Use names your staff recognizes, such as Front Desk, Hygiene Hall, or Office Manager.

### Reveal credentials only when configuring

Savvy stores SIP passwords encrypted and shows setup details only to authorized team admins.

 Questions practices ask before adding desk phones

### Do desk phones replace Ira?

No. Desk phones give your staff the first chance to answer selected calls. Ira remains the safety net when the team is busy, away from the desk, or after hours.

### Can more than one phone ring at the same time?

Yes. You can route a practice number to multiple active desk phones. Savvy fans the call out to each assigned phone, and the first answered phone takes the call.

### What does the patient experience?

The patient calls your usual number and hears normal ringing. If a staff member answers, it feels like a standard phone call. If no one answers, Ira takes over instead of sending the patient into a dead end.

### What information does the team see?

Savvy sends caller display information to the desk phone. Known callers can show by patient name, while unknown callers show the incoming phone number.

### What do we need to set this up?

You need SIP-compatible desk phones, internet access for those devices, and a Savvy phone number or forwarded practice line. Savvy provides the SIP server, username, password, port, and routing controls.
